AI Exposure Is Not Job-Loss Probability
Why a 70% exposure score does not mean a 70% chance that your job disappears.
Two very different questions
AI exposure asks how much of an occupation's task mix appears compatible with current automation and AI assistance. Job-loss probability would require forecasting employer adoption, costs, regulation, customer preferences, labor supply, new task creation and the pace of technical change. AIJobScanner does not claim to calculate that probability.
What can happen to a highly exposed job?
Employers may automate individual tasks, increase output per worker, redesign roles, create new review duties, reduce some hiring, or use AI primarily as an assistant. Different employers can respond differently to the same technology.
How to read the score
Use the score to find pressure points. Then inspect the occupation's physical-work requirement, human trust and judgment, labor-market outlook and career pivots. Those signals provide a more useful career discussion than the exposure percentage alone.
